![]() ![]() Then the restaurant got really cold and everyone kept commenting on it, and the chatty waitress walked around and tried to find where the breeze was, then shrugged and went back to chatting.įor alcohol they had a few bottle basic beers and some margaritas. They had plenty of staff, but one waitress just stood and talked most of the hour we were there. The salsa also tasted a little like canned tomatoes. They added the tiniest dollop of guac, which actually did taste amazing, but was just shockingly small. Then I subbed the enchilada sauce for cheese sauce on my burrito, and it added $2.25 to an $11 burrito, which used to be $9.25 at the old location - I got that burrito a lot, lol. A cup of cheese dip, 4 oz maybe?, was $4.50, and it didn't live up to my memory. I think before, the food often came from cans, but they let it stew and seasoned it, so you didn't notice. The only reason I didn't give this a full five stars is because I wasn't able to eat so I could not honestly tell you how the food was.ĭefinitely not as good as it used to be. All of the wait staff were masks although none of the patrons did. I'm impressed with the method that they use of turning the napkin container on its side with a sign that says "this table has not been sanitized", so that the cleaners know exactly where to go. I used the bathroom while I was here, and it was spotless, and anytime a table was emptied there was somebody right there cleaning it immediately. And the kids found plenty to keep them enticed. I was unable to eat because of multiple food allergies, but the rest of the people in my group said the food was good. We were able to get through the check-in line quickly, we were treated courteously, everything was clean, and the waitresses and waiters absolutely hustled! The young lady that helped our table was amazing she was personable, and she was kind to the children in our group. It was on the Sunday after Christmas, so it was very crowded. My family got together for Christmas for the first time in years, and we came to Golden Corral because this is where our late mother used to love to eat. This speaks volumes about the meticulous care that Wilder's staff and management place in their work. This was not of extreme monetary value, but she recognized that it likely had sentimental value to someone and made the extra effort that eventually reunited it with its very happy owner. I would like to note the special attention given by Marsha, who went above and beyond to return a lost item of jewelry. The dinner was a perfect coda for my son's birthday celebration! Wilder's is a great choice, whether for a cozy evening for two or a special celebration with a group of family and friends. The cauliflower au gratin is a great side dish - a cheesy, generous portion. Steaks are the highlights (tasty, tender, cooked to perfection), but the Chilean sea bass and shrimp/scampi selections were also big hits. All were impressed with impeccable service (including patience and kindness with children), a warm and inviting milieu and, of course, delectable food and drinks. It never fails to delight! Last week we had the pleasure of introducing Wilder's to other MI family members who were also visiting Joplin.
